We are looking for a skilled Civil & MEP Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works. The ideal candidate will analyze project specifications, review drawings, and support tender submissions to ensure competitive and precise pricing.
Key Responsibilities:1. Estimation & Costing
- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Perform quantity take-offs for civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works.
- Prepare cost breakdowns covering materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and overheads.
- Develop pricing sheets, tender summaries, and cost comparisons.
2. Technical Evaluation
- Identify project scope, technical requirements, and design discrepancies.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to clarify technical queries and obtain missing information.
- Propose value engineering options to optimize cost efficiency without compromising quality.
3. Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams for alignment on pricing and specifications.
- Support tender submission process by preparing commercial proposals and documentation.
4. Market & Data Management
- Maintain updated price lists, production rates, and supplier databases.
- Monitor market trends, material price changes, and cost impacts.
- Evaluate subcontractor proposals for compliance with project requirements.
5. Tender & Post-Tender Support
- Prepare and submit tender clarifications when required.
- Assist in negotiation processes and finalizing project budgets.
- Support project team in variations, re-measurements, and cost adjustments during execution.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in civil and/or MEP estimation.
- Strong knowledge of civil and MEP systems, materials, and construction methodologies.
- Proficiency in quantity take-off software, AutoCAD, and MS Office (especially Excel).
- Strong analytical, numerical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tender deadlines.
