• Seeking a part-time, on-call independent contractor available Monday through Friday during standard business hours (8:00 AM–4:30 PM), early evening attempts at residential locations will be needed. Most days will start closer to noon.

• Work hours vary daily based on caseload and demand, offering flexibility without fixed schedules or all-day routes.

• Most assignments are routine, requiring a first attempt within 1–3 days of acceptance, offering scheduling flexibility. Seeking someone willing to make first attempts preferably within 1–2 days.

• Start and end from home, with new assignments offered as they come in.

JOB DETAILS:
As a process server, you’ll deliver civil legal documents by knocking on residential doors, and serving businesses at commercial locations.

Common documents include:

• Summons and Complaints (e.g., personal injury, car accidents)
• Subpoenas
• Small Claims Court / Notice of Hearing
• Foreclosure Notices
• Eviction Notices
• Family Law Documents (e.g., divorce, custody)

Work Flexibility:

• Most assignments are routine, allowing completion at your own pace, with first attempts requested within 1–3 days for local, non-urgent jobs.
• Occasional urgent rush (1–2 hours) or same-day requests require availability to respond quickly between routine assignments.
• As part of our team, we rely on you to be available for these urgent tasks, with the expectation of being mobile and on the road within 1–2 hoursor less in some situations during business hours when needed.

HOW IT WORKS:

• Work from Home: All assignments are managed remotely. Our office will contact you via direct message to offer delivery or service assignments. Upon acceptance, we’ll email you the documents to serve, along with clear instructions on how and where to deliver them. No office visits required!
• Support & Tools: We provide ongoing training, dedicated support, and a free mobile app to easily track and log completed assignments from your phone.
• Flexible Assignments: New requests arrive daily across the Twin Cities and surrounding areas. Most are routine (first attempt within 1–3 days), with some same-day urgent requests. We strive to assign jobs close to your location, though travel within the seven-county Twin Cities metro area is sometimes needed.
• Reliable Pay: Commissions are paid every Friday for completed assignments.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS

This role requires confidence in approaching strangers to deliver legal documents in diverse settings, including urban inner-city areas, remote rural locations, and everywhere in between. While most individuals and businesses accept service without issue, there is a rare possibility that someone may attempt to avoid service, be untruthful, or, in uncommon cases, become verbally or physically confrontational.

Our comprehensive training and ongoing support prioritize your safety and equip you to handle these situations effectively. However, such scenarios, though infrequent, are part of the job. Additionally, you may occasionally be asked to conduct stakeouts to effect service when needed. This is a rare but essential aspect of the role.

This position offers excellent flexibility, earning potential, and a dynamic work environment. However, if you are uncomfortable operating in urban settings or uneasy about delivering documents to individuals who may resist, this role may not be the right fit, and we respectfully encourage you to consider other opportunities.
