Civil Superintendent

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Civil Superintendent to lead and oversee construction projects from inception to completion. This pivotal role involves managing on-site operations, coordinating with various teams, and ensuring that all work adheres to safety standards, project specifications, and schedules. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction management, excellent supervisory skills, and a thorough understanding of civil engineering principles. Your leadership will drive project success, maintain quality control, and foster a collaborative environment on the construction site.

Duties

• Supervise daily construction activities on-site, ensuring work progresses according to plans, schedules, and safety regulations
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to facilitate smooth workflow and timely delivery of materials
• Oversee quality control processes by inspecting work against blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications
• Manage site safety programs in compliance with OSHA standards; conduct regular safety meetings and inspections
• Review and interpret construction drawings, schematics, and contracts to clarify scope of work and resolve issues promptly
• Lead supervising teams by assigning tasks, monitoring performance, providing feedback, and fostering a culture of excellence
• Assist in budgeting efforts by tracking costs related to labor, materials, and equipment; support project scheduling and resource allocation

Qualifications

• Proven experience in heavy civil construction management
• Extensive knowledge of construction site safety standards including OSHA regulations
• Proficiency with GPS layout and Machine Control
• Skilled in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings; ability to interpret technical specifications accurately
• Strong understanding of Aldot Specifications and Standard drawings
• Demonstrated leadership skills with previous supervising experience; capable of managing diverse teams effectively
• Familiarity with project scheduling techniques and tools; experience in budgeting and cost control practices
• Excellent communication skills; ability to coordinate among multiple stakeholders seamlessly
