We are looking for a customer-oriented claims representative. A claims representative monitors liability claims from start to finish, verifying and updating information on submitted claims, reviewing the policy to determine which charges are eligible for reimbursement, reconciling claim estimates, negotiating payment to all parties and following up to ensure that payments are made. Having natural curiosity, persistence and the ability to conduct detailed research are useful for claims representatives. They are confident at troubleshooting and investigate if they don’t have enough information to complete the claim. The target is to ensure excellent service standards and maintain high customer satisfaction.
Roles and Responsibilities
· Investigate claims and obtain relevant facts to determine coverage, loss and liability.
· Interact effectively with customers, repair technicians, and other personnel involved in claim process.
· Assist Supervisor in analyzing, planning, decision-making and problem-solving activities to support claim settlement.
· Good communications skills and math aptitude are fundamental.
· Document claim file activities in accurate and timely manner.
· Resolve claim issues promptly and follow-up on outstanding issues.
· Perform claim negotiations with insured to resolve claim disputes.
· Communicate claim status to supervisor and customers on regular basis.
· Contact outside agents for claim assistance if needed.
· Work in compliance with state regulations and applicable jurisdictions.
· Perform claim assignments received from Supervisor in timely and accurate manner.
· Work under the guidance and assistance of Supervisor to ensure accurate claim settlement.
· Manage claim settlements within authority limits.
· Attend educational workshops and/or licensing requirements on claim adjudicating.
· Keep abreast of current developments pertaining to the job.
· Stay updated on product knowledge and be informed of any changes in company policies.
· Competent with computer and office skill such as Word, Excel, Outlook and other basic equipment. Excellent interpersonal and phone skills.
· Must be dependable, punctual and arrive at designated work scheduled time. Must be available when the phone lines open.
· Bi-Lingual (not a requirement but a plus) - Written and lingual proficiency in designated dialect. Assist other departments with translations.
· Provide exceptional customer service that impacts the company’s bottom line by creating repeat business.
