Role Description

Freight brokers put an incredible amount of trust in Highway and that trust will be extended to you. The Claims Analyst will be responsible for managing customer claims regarding the Highway Performance Guarantee program. Reporting to the Operations Manager for Risk, they will be primarily focused on reviewing and processing new claims that come through as a part of the Performance Guarantee program.


Your role:

  • Own the claims process for the Risk team, focused on specific outlined processes and procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness of claims handling.
  • Manage relationships with claimants, answering questions, addressing concerns and establishing best practices in our Claims handling process.
  • Act as the feedback loop between claimants and Highway leadership in Risk to stay informed and abreast the current Claims overview.
  • Identify process improvements – uncover areas for additional process optimization, ensuring the standards are met and maintaining consistency.


Qualifications

  • Experience in insurance or freight (preferred). Background in commercial lines, trucking insurance, brokerage, or a related field; understands policies, COIs, and how claims/losses happen.
  • Strong relationship management skills, comfortable creating feedback loops with the Risk team and working cross-departmentally with other relevant teams.
  • Analytical mindset. Comfortable working with data to identify trends, surface issues and translate insights into action.
  • Detail-oriented and process-driven. Able to manage multiple claims at once, ensure adherence to the claims process in a trackable and reportable way.
  • Proactive problem solver. Doesn’t wait for issues to escalate; identifies risks early and works with the Risk team to resolve them.
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving environment. Able to adapt as the product and program evolve and help shape best practices along the way.
