Claims Representative - Auto Insurance

Job Summary – Claims Representative

RJR Insurance Company is a specialized insurance provider focused on managing auto liability claims for commercial transportation, with expertise in handling taxicab and livery vehicle claims.

This position will be responsible for managing a portfolio of insurance claims from initial investigation through resolution. Duties include conducting thorough investigations to determine coverage and liability, evaluating damages, and negotiating settlements within authority limits. The employee will collaborate with defense counsel and manage litigation strategy on contested or moderately complex claims. Employees must ensure timely and accurate claim handling in compliance with company policies and legal regulations, while maintaining strong communications with the insureds, claimants, and attorneys.

1. Key Responsibilities

  • Handle claims from first notice of loss through resolution or closure
  • Analyze coverage and liability in accordance with policy terms
  • Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences
  • Maintain accurate claim documentation and adhere to regulatory timelines
  • Identify subrogation opportunities and pursue recovery efforts from responsible third parties

2. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Prior claims handling experience with emphasis on negotiation and litigation management
  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in computer systems, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Highly organized and self-motivated with strong attention to detail
  • Familiarity with claims management systems and legal procedure

3. Preferred Skills

  • Experience handling bodily injury or liability claims, including those with moderate complexity or litigation exposure
  • Ability to manage a bodily injury, property damage, subrogation, and litigation caseload in Nevada jurisdiction
  • Knowledge of applicable state laws and insurance regulations

4. Work Environment

  • This is an in-office position
  • Local travel may be required for field investigations, mediations, or court appearances

5. Salary Range

$65,000 - $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
