Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Claims Specialist
with
household goods, moving, or relocation industry experience
. This role manages household goods claims from start to finish, ensuring timely, accurate, and customer-focused resolutions. This position is
100% on-site
at our Cincinnati, OH office.
Key Responsibilities
Claims Handling

Manage household goods claims involving damage, loss, delay, and valuation disputes.

Investigate claims by reviewing inventories, delivery documentation, photos, driver reports, and customer statements.

Coordinate with repair firms, inspectors, and internal operations to assess damages and determine settlements.

Negotiate settlements in accordance with regulations, valuation coverage, and carrier liability guidelines.

Ensure full compliance with DOT/FMCSA timelines and documentation standards.
Customer Communication

Communicate professionally with customers to explain findings, set expectations, and resolve disputes.

Request missing documentation and provide timely claim updates.

Handle sensitive or complex customer issues with professionalism and discretion.
Administrative & Operational Support

Maintain accurate claim files and perform detailed data entry.

Coordinate with drivers, warehouse teams, and third-party vendors as needed.

Support claims adjusters by gathering required documents and records.

Assist with cross-training across Risk, Support, and Non-HHGDs departments.

Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
Other Responsibilities

Understand and apply repair procedures and valuation coverage rules.

Remain calm and solution-focused in high-stress situations.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to proactively plan for potential issues.

Qualifications
-
Household goods, moving, or relocation industry experience is required.

High school diploma or GED required.

Minimum 2 years of customer service or related experience.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Customer service–driven with the ability to manage needs efficiently.
