Job Summary

We’re looking for a focused, action-oriented Subrogation Analyst who knows how to connect the dots, close the loop, and maximally recover what’s owed under general guidance of the Claims Supervisor. In this temporary full-time role (for about 6 months with the potential to become a regular team member), you’ll own claims from start to finish — reviewing damage, confirming liability, negotiating with insurance carriers and third parties, and keeping recoveries moving fast and clean.

You won’t just chase collections — you’ll help improve how our claims process works. From partnering with operations and fleet teams to tightening documentation standards, to jumping into special projects that make systems better and cycle times faster, you’ll have real impact.

If you’re detail-oriented, comfortable negotiating, love staying organized, and enjoy turning complex claims into successful recoveries, this is a role where you can thrive.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform end-to-end subrogation collections, including reviewing claim files, confirming liability, assessing recovery potential, and persistently negotiating settlements with insurers, customers, and third parties while meeting portfolio recovery and aging targets.
  • Manage end-to-end the sales of core vehicles and/or repairing of vehicles at approved body shops, managing communications and follow-ups in a timely and expeditious manner.
  • Monitor damaged vehicles waiting to be sold at auctions, ensuring all practices and processes are engaged to sell vehicles in a timely fashion while ensuring the best residual values.
  • Monitor damaged vehicles sent to body shops for repairs, persistently ensuring all vehicles are repaired in a timely manner and based on company quality standards.
  • Analyze claims documentation (estimates, photos, repair invoices, rental contracts, incident reports) to validate damages, ensure completeness, and support effective recovery strategies.
  • Manage a dedicated and organized inventory of subrogation files, maintaining accurate, timely notes, documentation, and status updates in claims and collections systems.
  • Lead and participate in special projects to improve claims and subrogation processes, including mapping workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and proposing and testing process changes.
  • Partner with operations and fleet teams to refine damage documentation standards to support consistent and defensible recovery outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver training and job aids for front-line staff on EV inspection and intake procedures, including identifying damage, documenting photos, and capturing key claim information at check-in and return.
  • Collaborate with internal technology and IT teams to enhance the claims portal, including requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, feedback on usability, and monitoring system issues impacting subrogation effectiveness.
  • Consistently track, analyze, and report subrogation metrics and trends, such as recovery rates, cycle times, denial reasons, and EV-specific issues, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with legal or external partners on escalated files requiring arbitration, litigation referral, or specialized negotiation support, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Nevada and federal regulations related to collections, consumer communications, privacy, and recordkeeping, as well as internal policies and code of conduct.

Other Duties:

  • Maintain adherence to company service protocols, confidentiality guidelines, and quality expectations.
  • Participate in ongoing training, performance reviews, and team meetings.
  • Maintains compliance with company policies and procedures, local regulations, and recommended best practices.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent education completion
  • At least 4 or more years of experience in subrogation, auto claims, collections, or related recovery work, preferably in rental car, fleet, insurance, or automotive environments.
  • Strong understanding of basic insurance and subrogation principles, liability assessment, and claim file documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret claim documentation and use systems to track and manage a high volume of files with strong attention to detail.

Required Qualifications

  • Comfort working with technology platforms, including claims systems, portals, and spreadsheets, and partnering with other key departments on enhancements or issue resolution.
  • Effective and professional written and verbal English communication skills, including negotiation and influence with external parties and clear training and guidance for internal employees.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks in a deadline-driven environment, and collaborate across claims, operations, fleet, finance, and technology teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm and solution-focused in challenging situations.
  • Proficiency with email, web-based applications, and basic computer skills.
  • Reliable transportation to work and attendance based on work schedule.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk for extended periods of time while working at a desk, in an office environment, or at auctions, dealerships, and fleet locations.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds, such as equipment, files, or office supplies, with or without assistance.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills, such as typing, using office equipment, or operating a computer.
  • Ability to travel locally between work locations as necessary.
