Class 1 & Class 2 Drivers + Tramper Drivers – Ongoing Work (Portsmouth)

Job Summary
We are currently recruiting experienced and reliable drivers for ongoing work based out of Portsmouth. We are looking for:

• Class 1 Drivers
• Class 2 Multi Drop Drivers
• Tramper Drivers

You will be responsible for completing deliveries and collections across the UK, ensuring goods are transported safely, efficiently, and on time. Work may include multi-drop deliveries, trunking, and tramping operations depending on the role.

Tramping Details:

• Trampers will typically be out 2–3 nights per week
• £26.20 tax-free night out allowance
• Approved parking charges covered

Our client is a Portsmouth-based logistics provider specialising in road haulage, palletised distribution, warehousing, and national freight services. With a strong reputation for reliability, communication, and service, they support customers across the UK and Europe with tailored transport solutions.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles to transport goods to designated locations.
• Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules while adhering to road safety regulations.
• Load and unload cargo, ensuring items are secured properly during transit.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch teams.
• Follow all traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies during operations.
• Assist with loading or unloading when necessary, demonstrating flexibility in duties.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a delivery driver or commercial driver, preferably with flatbed vehicles.
• Valid driving licence suitable for operating large commercial vehicles (Category C+E or equivalent).
• Demonstrable knowledge of flatbed operations and safe driving practices.
• Delivery driver experience with a strong focus on punctuality and customer service.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently.
• Ability to work independently, demonstrating responsibility and professionalism on the road.
• Clean driving record with no recent serious offences or violations.
• Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks as required.

Pay: £14.50-£15.50 per hour
