Synergy LMS are looking for experienced Cover Drivers Class 1, 48 hrs/week days/nights as required, some weekend work. We are a leading linen and work-wear supplier to the NHS and hospitality sectors and are based in Sheffield.

All our drivers are part of the Synergy team and play a crucial role in delivering/collecting for our customers and clients, providing an exceptional service.

Summary

As a cover driver you will be covering drivers’ annual leave and sickness absence as well as standing in for the Transport Manager as required.

We are looking for someone who is able to fit around a flexible working pattern, as days, nights, and some weekends will need to be covered. You will typically work 48 hours over 5 days. Any extra shifts over the 48 hours will be paid at our overtime rates or taken in lieu. You must have a reasonable grasp of Microsoft Office applications and an ability to learn how to use bespoke systems.

Requirements

• Recent experience as an HGV driver
• Have no more than 3 points on your license (no DR, DD or IN codes)
• Possess a Digital Tachograph and CPC Card
• Have attained a full understanding of tachograph legislation
• Roll cage work experience preferred
• Tail lift experience preferred
• Immediate start
• Ability to demonstrate the highest level of professionalism
• Health and Safety awareness and good practice essential

Office duties will include:

• Monitoring daily compliance procedures, such as drivers’ hours, tacho downloads and vehicle check sheets
• Briefing drivers with any relevant information and delivery instructions
• Problem solving with any delivery issues
• Licence checks
• Engage with route planning when required

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in an administrative role in transport (preferred)
• Experience of working in a supervisory role (preferred)
• Excellent communication skills
• Drivers CPC
• Class 1 licence
• Have no more than 3 points on your licence

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £16.20 per hour
