Class 1 Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team, who are happy to work in a 4on 4off rota. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to Lidl stores from Lidl RDC Runcorn. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage time effectively.

Currently we recrut only on afternoon shifts, starting from 14:00-17:00-19:00

Duties

• Operate lorries in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
• Transport goods to designated locations in a timely manner.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and functionality.
• Secure loads properly using appropriate equipment and techniques, particularly for flatbed deliveries.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel usage.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise during transport.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety, maintenance, and customer service.

Requirements

• Valid commercial driving licence (C+E or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices.
• Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently.
• Good communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
• Flexibility to work varied hours as required by the delivery schedule.
