JOB PURPOSE

We are looking for an experienced Class 1 HGV Driver to work from our site in Ernesettle, Plymouth Devon. This is a full time, permanent position with overtime available. Drivers will work closely with customers and colleagues, so a positive attitude, collaborative working manner, and strong communication skills are key to thriving in this fast-paced environment.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

HGV Driver

• Carry out timely multi-drop deliveries of luxury manufactured products across the UK, ensuring high standards of service at all times.
• Maintain a professional and presentable image while representing the company when interacting with customers, members of the public, and colleagues.
• Take responsibility for all loaded goods, ensuring cargo is correctly secured using appropriate restraints and safety equipment to prevent movement or damage during transit, and unloaded safely upon delivery.
• Plan and manage delivery routes efficiently, reporting any significant delays or deviations, while overseeing the safe loading and unloading of goods.
• Promote the efficient use of company resources, including fuel, vehicles, and equipment.
• Maintain regular communication with the transport team, providing progress updates to ensure customer expectations and delivery schedules are met.
• Ensure all delivery information is accurately recorded within onboard systems, with all relevant documentation completed, maintained, and submitted daily.
• Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams as required to support operational efficiency while on site

Compliance & Health & Safety

• Follow all company Health & Safety procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Complete required checks diligently and report any accidents, damage, or hazards immediately
• Ensure all equipment and products are handled safely and correctly and you operate legally at all times

QUALIFICATION & SKILLS E = Essential, D = Desirable

Education

• Fluent in English (E)
• Must hold a full and clean UK Class 1 CE license (E)
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card (E)
• Good written, numerical and verbal skills (D)

Technical

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience delivering loads to a variety of RDC’s and retail outlets (E)
• Good geographical knowledge (D)
• Knowledge of Vispring product range (D)

Due to distance and time constraints, you will be required to spend up to 4 nights away from base.
