Class A Drayage Driver with Hazmat

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and safety-conscious Class A Drayage Driver with Hazmat certification with 2 years experience to join our team. In this vital role, you will operate tractor-trailers to transport freight efficiently and securely between ports, rail yards, and distribution centers. Your expertise in handling various types of cargo—will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties

• Safely operate Class A commercial tractor-trailers with manual transmissions or Automatics across designated routes, ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations.
• Ensuring cargo integrity and safety.
• Transport a variety of cargo types.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and route logs; complete necessary documentation for each trip.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
• Follow route schedules diligently while adapting to traffic conditions and delivery priorities.
• Ensure proper handling of hazardous materials (Hazmat) by adhering to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• Hazmat certification with appropriate endorsements for transporting hazardous materials safely.
• Proven experience in truck driving, especially with tractor-trailers, freight delivery, or drayage operations.
• Familiarity with manual transmission trucks.
• Strong knowledge of route driving best practices and safety procedures for commercial trucking.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude toward safety compliance and customer service.
