Class A Driver

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Safely transport goods, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations, performing pre-trip

inspections, and maintaining accurate logs and paperwork. Operate a tractor-trailer combination on highways, followinall traffic laws and maintaining safe driving practices. Properly load and unload cargo, ensuring it is securely fastened toprevent damage during transit. Follow assigned delivery routes and schedules to meet delivery deadlines. Communicate

effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery updates, delays, and any issues encountered. Maintain accurate driver

logs, delivery receipts, and other necessary paperwork. Perform basic maintenance tasks like checking tire pressure, anfluid levels, and reporting any necessary repairs. Adhere to all DOT regulations regarding hours of service, weight limitsand safety standards.

Keeping a record of; Shop tools being checked in and out, materials being delivered and to what job they are assigned, whethey are picked up and by whom, maintains fleet maintenance and registration records, handles shop and maintenanceappointments. Keep shop and grounds clean and maintained.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s license (CDL)
  • Clean Driving record
  • Ability to pass DOT Physical Exam & drug test
  • Strong understanding of Rules and regulations
  • 2-3 years proven experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent

PREFERRED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

  • Proficiency in the use of GPS navigation systems
  • Ability to maintain concentration while driving for several hours at a time
  • Strong knowledge of traffic laws, particularly truck driving rules and regulations
  • Ability to lift heavy items
  • Strong time management skills
  • Problem-solving skills to deal with accidents and unforeseen incidents
  • Track and report working hour, maintain all required logs
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Perform inspections of your vehicle before and following each trip
  • Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure, repairs, etc.)
  • Notify managers of any major maintenance issues encountered
  • Check weather conditions and road reports before departure
  • Always ensure your vehicle is kept clean
  • Adhere to all company rules , regulations/policies
  • Obey all applicable traffic laws
  • Make Safety a priority

  • Assists in supervising the maintenance of warehouse equipment
  • Assisting in all day-to-day operations, including delivering plans and other documents to other businesses

  • Visual and hearing acuity (per Federal regulations) which mandate that truck drivers have to hear a forced whisper at 5

feet, have at least 20/40 vision, a 70-degree field of vision, and the ability to distinguish the colors of traffic lights.
