We are seeking a dependable, organized, and mechanically inclined Construction Yard Supervisor to oversee daily yard operations, coordinate equipment and material deliveries, support field crews, and ensure our yard remains safe, secure, and operational. This position plays a critical role in supporting project success by helping maintain readiness across our fleet, equipment, tools, and material inventory.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable, organized, safety-focused, and mechanically inclined Class A Driver/Assistant Yard Supervisor to oversee daily yard operations while supporting the transportation and logistics needs of our construction projects. This dual-role position requires a valid Class A CDL and the ability to safely transport heavy equipment and machinery between job sites, while also managing yard activities when not driving.

This position plays a critical role in supporting project success by helping maintain readiness across our fleet, equipment, tools, and material inventory.

Key Responsibilities

Transportation & Equipment Hauling

• Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles, trailers, and transport equipment.
• Haul heavy construction equipment, machinery, tools, and materials between construction sites, vendors, and yard locations.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain required DOT documentation.
• Secure loads properly and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
• Coordinate equipment deliveries and pickups to support field operations and project schedules.

Yard Operations & Supervision

• Oversee daily construction yard operations and maintain a safe, clean, and organized facility.
• Coordinate the staging, loading, unloading, and storage of equipment and materials.
• Track inventory, equipment utilization, and material availability.
• Schedule and coordinate maintenance, repairs, and inspections for company vehicles and equipment.
• Ensure equipment is ready and available to support field crews.
• Manage yard personnel and assist with assigning daily tasks and priorities.
• Maintain security of the yard, equipment, tools, and materials.

Equipment Operation & Support

• Operate construction equipment as needed, 7-&-10-yard Dump Truck, 50ft Low Boy equipment, Hauling Trailer, Peterbilt Haulers, and Knuckle Boom Cranes
• Assist with equipment setup, mobilization, and demobilization activities.
• Perform basic troubleshooting, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
• Support field crews during peak workload periods when necessary.

Requirements

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Crane operator certification and experience (Preferred).
• Clean driving record
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience operating commercial trucks and trailers.
• Experience hauling heavy construction equipment and machinery.
• Knowledge of load securement practices and DOT regulations.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience performing basic equipment maintenance.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
