Class B CDL Roll Off, Front End, Or Rear End Driver

This is a Teamsters 813 Union position. Driver is responsible to safely operate a heavy duty truck to service waste containers to and from our base.

Responsibilities

• Operates vehicle in accordance with DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements as well as all local, state and federal laws.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle and documents checks utilizing the standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report).
• Notifies Dispatch of any incidents, accidents, injures, or property damage.
• Follows route assignments as directed and completes end of day documentation and check out process.
• Plan routes and use GPS.
• Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving.
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
• Report defects, accidents or violations.

Skills

• Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc)
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
• Valid truck driving license

Experience:

• Roll Off Truck: 1 year (Preferred)
• Commercial Driving: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• CDL B (Preferred)
• Air Brake Endorsement (Preferred)
