Class B Dump Truck Driver

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Class B Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic construction team. In this vital role, you will operate a Class B commercial dump truck to transport materials across construction sites, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation and construction site familiarity will contribute significantly to the success of our projects. This position offers an energetic environment where your skills will directly impact project efficiency and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a Class B dump truck to haul materials such as gravel, dirt, asphalt, and other construction supplies across various job sites.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the dump truck, checking for mechanical issues and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with site supervisors and crew members to deliver materials promptly and efficiently, maintaining clear communication throughout the process.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of materials using auxiliary equipment such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, or dozers when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance records for reporting purposes.
  • Follow all federal, state, and local transportation laws, including hours-of-service regulations for commercial drivers.
  • Support other heavy equipment operations such as grader operation or water truck duties as needed on construction sites.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class B commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience operating dump trucks in a construction environment.
  • Mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, tankers, horizontal drilling rigs, and paving machinery.
  • Familiarity with construction site safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance checks on heavy equipment and trucks.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and site supervisors.
  • Experience working with Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery is preferred but not required. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $24.52 - $29.54 per hour
