Class B Local Piggyback Truck Driver

Job Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Class B Local Piggyback Truck Driver and take charge of delivering freight efficiently and safely within local routes. This energetic role involves operating a variety of trucks, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and specialized equipment like dump trucks and roll-off trucks. You’ll be the backbone of our delivery operations, ensuring timely load & unload processes while maintaining excellent customer service. Duties

  • Safely operate Class B tractor-trailers and specialized trucks such as flatbeds, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks for local deliveries
  • Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment like forklifts & Piggyback when necessary
  • Execute route driving with precision, adhering to schedules and safety regulations
  • Transport freight via piggyback operations, ensuring proper securing of loads for safe transit
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify truck condition and report any maintenance issues promptly
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch to coordinate delivery schedules and handle route adjustments as needed
  • Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and inspection records in compliance with company policies

Requirements

  • Valid Class B commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
  • Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery driver roles involving freight handling
  • Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles and various truck types such as flatbeds, tankers, refrigerated trailers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks
  • Ability to load & unload freight safely using forklifts or manual methods when required
  • Strong knowledge of route driving practices and safety regulations for commercial vehicles
  • Physical ability to lift heavy loads and perform vehicle inspections regularly
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and team members
  • Must be able to operate piggyback forklift
