Join our dynamic team as a Class B Local Piggyback Truck Driver and take charge of delivering freight efficiently and safely within local routes. Duties
- Safely operate Class B tractor-trailers and specialized trucks such as flatbeds, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks for local deliveries
- Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment like forklifts & Piggyback when necessary
- Execute route driving with precision, adhering to schedules and safety regulations
- Transport freight via piggyback operations, ensuring proper securing of loads for safe transit
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify truck condition and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Communicate effectively with dispatch to coordinate delivery schedules and handle route adjustments as needed
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and inspection records in compliance with company policies
Requirements
- Valid Class B commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery driver roles involving freight handling
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles and various truck types such as flatbeds, tankers, refrigerated trailers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks
- Ability to load & unload freight safely using forklifts or manual methods when required
- Strong knowledge of route driving practices and safety regulations for commercial vehicles
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads and perform vehicle inspections regularly
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and team members
- Must be able to operate piggyback forklift
