Class B Parts Washer Driver

Pre-Employment Qualifications: Obtain TWIC Card & pass Pre-Employment Physical & Drug Test. For all potential employees being considered for a “driving positions” they must pass the DOT Drug Test and have the approval of our Vehicle Insurance Carrier {AXA -XL Insurance} with a “clear” MVR (Motor Vehicle Record). They must also pass a road test monitored by an approved Lorco licensed driver.

The Class B Parts Washer Driver Position has multiple responsibilities that include the following: Drive a box truck delivering drums of fluid (i.e. antifreeze, windshield washer, parts washer solvent), parts washer units and absorbent pads. The position also requires the individual to collect drums of used oil filters, waste parts washer solvent, and recollect used empty drums. This individual must also be able to manage and accurately maintain the invoices and associated paperwork requirements. The knowledge to use a tablet to communicate. The physical characteristics of this job require the following:

Responsibilities

  • The ability to work a 8-10 hour day, (usually 5 days a week) with the time divided between driving and stopping at customers’ sites to service their needs.
  • The strength to repeatedly climb into & out of both the truck and the truck’s box.
  • Absolutely, must have a “Clear” Motor Vehicle Record & demonstrate Safe Driving Practices
  • The strength to transport with the assistance of a drum dolly (manual hand truck) 55-gallon drums of fluid or used oil filters that weigh between 500-700 lbs.
  • Properly clean up chemical spills when necessary
  • The ability to bend and twist during the course of delivering product.
  • The ability to lift to 50 lbs.
  • The ability to work outside and manage the weather accustomed to the north-east
  • Must be able to effectively communicate (verbal & written) & maintain a professional business relationship with all customers.
  • Proficient in driving both a manual and automatic transmission truck
  • Good sense of direction & the ability to interpret a map, minimizing the possibility of getting lost.
  • Maintain HOS (Hours of Service) Logs if you job does not fall within the regulations

Skills

  • Valid Class B commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Experience operating large vehicles or industrial equipment preferred
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures related to transportation and handling hazardous materials
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
  • Excellent communication skills for clear reporting and teamwork
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on safety compliance and operational accuracy

The job of a Lorco Petroleum Services requires that they wear the following Personal Protective Equipment, (P.P.E.):

  • Company uniform, pants, shirt, jacket
  • Gloves - Chemical resistant gloves (i.e. nitrile or rubber)
  • Gloves – Cut resistant gloves (i.e. Kevlar or atf)
  • Hard Hat (when required) * Apron (optional when performing solvent work)
  • Eye Protection, usually safety glasses, possibly goggles a/o face shield
  • Steel toed boots, oil resistant & black
  • Bright high visibility illuminated vest, when not wearing hi-vis company uniform
  • Inclement weather gear rain jacket & rubber boots (when necessary)
