Classic Car Electrician

At Finest Cars Hub, located in Dubai Investment Park (DIP), we specialize in restoring and repairing classic (vintage) cars, we also offer service for modern cars as well as electrification services, including EV maintenance and repair. We are seeking an experienced and skilled Car Mechanic to join our dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about cars and committed to delivering exceptional service.

As an Automotive Electrician specializing in classic cars, you will play a vital role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the electrical systems of both vintage and modern vehicles. Your expertise will ensure the proper functioning of various electrical components, including lighting, ignition, climate control, and electronic control units (ECUs). Attention to detail, technical knowledge, and a passion for automotive history are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosis and Troubleshooting:
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot electrical issues in classic and modern vehicles.
  • Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals to diagnose complex electrical problems specific to vintage systems as well as contemporary automotive technologies.
  • Repair and Maintenance:
  • Perform repairs and replacements on faulty electrical components, including starters, alternators, batteries, and wiring, ensuring compatibility with classic car specifications.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on electrical systems of classic cars to prevent issues and maintain optimal performance, while also servicing modern vehicles.
  • Installation of Electrical Components:
  • Install and connect new electrical components, including period-appropriate lighting systems, sensors, and alarms for classic vehicles, as well as advanced systems in modern cars.
  • Ensure proper routing and securing of wiring in classic cars to prevent interference and maintain authenticity.
  • Electronic Control Units (ECUs):
  • Program and update electronic control units in modern vehicles to integrate new features and address software-related issues.
  • Diagnose and rectify problems related to the vehicle's computer systems while maintaining the integrity of older systems in classic cars.
  • Lighting Systems:
  • Inspect, repair, and replace lighting components, including vintage headlights, taillights, and interior lighting, as well as modern lighting systems.
  • Align and aim headlights to ensure compliance with contemporary regulations and optimal illumination.
  • Climate Control Systems:
  • Diagnose and repair air conditioning, heating, and ventilation issues in classic and modern vehicles.
  • Recharge air conditioning systems and test for leaks, ensuring performance standards are met across all automotive generations.
  • Safety Systems:
  • Inspect and maintain safety-related electrical systems, such as airbags and ABS (anti-lock braking systems) in modern vehicles.
  • Ensure proper functioning of warning indicators and gauges on the instrument cluster, with attention to classic car instrumentation as well.
  • Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of diagnostic tests, repairs, and parts used for both classic and modern vehicles.
  • Provide clear and concise information to customers regarding electrical issues and solutions, with an emphasis on restoring and maintaining classic cars.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an automotive electrician, with a focus on classic cars and knowledge of modern vehicles.
  • Certification or diploma in automotive electrical systems or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, components, and diagnostics for both vintage and contemporary cars.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment suitable for a range of vehicle types.
  • Familiarity with wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals from various automotive eras.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills specific to both classic and modern electrical systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and customer service orientation, particularly in explaining technical details to classic car enthusiasts.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks in various positions and environments, including working on vintage vehicles with unique configurations.
