JOB SUMMARY

The Cleaner/Sealer prepares unit surfaces for the application of sealant adhesive and seals all areas of unit where two surfaces join.

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES

  • Clean units using approved cleansing agent(s) and/or small hand tools to ensure unit is free of foreign objects or debris.
  • Applies sealant adhesive to unit as per drawing, engineering, and/or specifications; may also apply to other areas of unit as necessary. Ensures formation of smooth transition that is free of voids.
  • Applies touch-up paint to small surfaces to correct scratches or imperfections.
  • Keeps a clean shop free of safety hazards; adheres to a FOD free work environment.
  • Maintains a safe, secure and legal work environment; adhering to all Company policies and procedures.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Maintains and protects the confidentiality of the Company’s information and products.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned or requested.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS – Education, Knowledge, and Experience

Education:

  • High school diploma; trade school or certification preferred

Experience:

  • Level I: 0-2 years
  • Level II: 2-5 years of experience with demonstrated proficiency in clean and seal applications.
  • Level III: 5+ years of experience with demonstrated expert level proficiency in clean and seal applications.

Note: Job assignments will be based on experience, job opening and budget availability, and the performance level of the incumbent.

Skills:

  • Various hand tool skills: chisels, files, screwdrivers, and similar tools.
  • Finishing skills: cleaning, touch-up painting.
  • Good verbal and visual communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team and autonomously.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Clean and seal experience for aerospace interior parts.

Other:

  • May be asked to work extended or irregular hours as required.
  • Must show proof of ability to work in the United States
