Job Purpose

The Cleaner / Watchman plays a dual role in maintaining the property's overall cleanliness, presentation, and basic security. The position involves performing daily routine cleaning tasks across communal areas while remaining physically present at the premises to monitor access, greet visitors, and report any maintenance or security concerns to management.

Key Responsibilities1. Cleaning & Maintenance (Soft Services)

• Communal Areas: Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub floors in corridors, lobbies, stairwells, and entrance areas daily.
• Waste Management: Empty communal waste bins, replace liners, and transport garbage bags to designated external collection points or skip areas.
• Surface Care: Dust and wipe down high-touch surfaces including handrails, elevator buttons, glass doors, intercom panels, and mailboxes.
• External Upkeep: Keep the immediate outdoor areas, main gates, parking bays, and walkways free of litter, dust, and debris.
• Restroom Upkeep: Clean, sanitize, and restock consumables (soap, paper towels, tissue) in any staff or common-area toilets.

2. Watchman & Access Monitoring (Basic Security)

• Gatekeeping: Maintain a visible, alert presence at the main entrance or guard post. Open and close gates for authorized residents, visitors, and delivery personnel.
• Visitor Logging: Greet visitors politely and maintain a simple manual logbook recording guest names, vehicle numbers, and arrival/departure times if required by management.
• Move-In/Move-Out Supervision: Monitor the movement of furniture or heavy machinery during tenant move-ins or move-outs to ensure building walls and elevators are not damaged.
• Lock-Up Procedures: Ensure all designated common area doors, roof access hatches, and peripheral gates are securely locked and fastened during night hours.

3. Facility Inspection & Reporting

• Defect Identification: Keep an eye out for maintenance issues such as burnt-out lights, leaking pipes, broken locks, or cracked tiles, and report them immediately to the supervisor.
• Utility Monitoring: Monitor basic building utilities (checking for water tank overflows or unusual noises from pump rooms) and notify the technical team if anomalies occur.
• Emergency Escalation: In case of fire, water bursts, or unauthorized trespassing, immediately notify emergency services (Dubai Police/Civil Defense) and company operations management.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience working as a cleaner, watchman, or building caretaker, preferably within the UAE facility management sector.
• Language Skills: Basic conversational English is required to interact with residents, visitors, and supervisors.
• Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit and energetic, as the role involves standing for extended periods, walking, lifting light loads, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Interpersonal Skills: Honest, trustworthy, and polite demeanor with a strong commitment to punctuality.
• Legal Status: Clean legal background with the ability to provide a police clearance or good conduct certificate if requested.

Pay: AED1,000.00 - AED1,100.00 per month
