You’ll help keep office buildings, conference rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and common areas spotless, hygienic, and welcoming for our clients. With a focus on detail-oriented routines—like thorough disinfection of high-touch surfaces, careful cleaning around personal workspaces, and maintaining sparkling entrances and glass—you’ll play a key role in creating clean, safe, and professional environments. Important note on scheduling: The vast majority of our work is performed outside typical business hours to minimize disruption to clients—primarily before 9 AM (early mornings), after 5 PM (evenings), and on weekends. This flexible, non-standard schedule is ideal for those who prefer working when offices are quiet and empty, allowing you to enjoy daytime hours free or balance other commitments.This is perfect for energetic, reliable individuals who take pride in consistent, high-quality results and enjoy a structured, client-focused routine.Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning of bathrooms: wipe mirrors, clean and disinfect sinks, faucets, toilet bowls (interior/exterior), urinals if present; sweep and mop floors; refill supplies (toilet paper, soap, paper towels); empty trash and replace liners
- Clean and disinfect kitchens/breakrooms: wipe countertops, sinks, cupboard exteriors (for fingerprints/smudges), fridge exteriors; thoroughly clean microwave interiors and exteriors; disinfect tables/surfaces; sweep/vacuum and mop floors; empty trash and replace liners
- Vacuum carpets and hard floors as needed; mop floors; spot clean as required
- Clean entrances and glass: spot clean glass doors/walls for fingerprints and smudges daily; clean glass entrance doors and disinfect handles regularly
- Disinfect high-touch areas (door handles, railings, light switches, elevator buttons/controls) on a scheduled basis (e.g., 1x/week)
- Empty all trash and recycling receptacles, replace liners (multiple times per week as needed)
- Perform weekly tasks: dust surfaces, monitors, window sills, shelves, baseboards, chairs, and glass dividers (without moving personal belongings); spot clean glass surfaces; disinfect additional kitchen/breakroom areas
- Handle periodic deep/seasonal tasks: scrub showers (1x/week where applicable); monthly dusting of hard-to-reach areas like beams, shelves, or monitors; semi-annual dusting of chairs top to bottom
- Clean common areas including conference/meeting rooms, vestibules, stairs (sweep/vacuum/mop front and rear as necessary), and elevators (interior/exterior doors, panels)
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or supply needs to supervisors promptly
- Follow safety protocols, use appropriate cleaning agents/equipment/PPE, and adhere to client-specific checklists for consistent quality
Qualifications
- Previous commercial or office cleaning experience preferred (especially in bathrooms, kitchens, and high-touch disinfection), but not required—we provide thorough training for the right motivated candidates
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to thorough, consistent cleaning routines
- Ability to work independently or in small teams while following schedules and checklists
- Physical ability to stand, bend, lift (up to 25-30 lbs), climb stairs, and perform repetitive tasks during shifts
- Flexible availability for early morning, evening, and weekend shifts (vast majority of jobs occur before 9 AM, after 5 PM, or weekends)
- The vast majority of our cleaning accounts are located in the Greater Portland Area (including surrounding towns in Cumberland and York Counties), with additional opportunities ranging from Augusta in the north to Kennebunk in the south along the southern Maine coast.
- Reliable transportation and strong work ethic—punctuality and dependability are essential
- Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques, disinfectants, and safety practices is a plus (training provided)
