Join Our Environmental Services Team!

Columbia Basin Hospital is looking for a dependable, hardworking per diem Environmental Services Cleaning Technician to join our team and help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This role is essential to the daily operations of our facility and contributes directly to the comfort and safety of everyone who walks through our doors.

This role provides coverage when a shift vacancy occurs. This is a perfect opportunity for someone looking to supplement their current career or remain engaged in the workforce but not be committed to working consistently. The position allows for flexibility in choosing when to accept shift coverage opportunities. The workplace culture is engaging, and the staff are dedicated to the well-being of the patients. Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize floors, rooms, and restrooms using proper methods and equipment.
  • Maintain patient and resident rooms, including bed-making and washing personal items.
  • Clean and sanitize waste cans, lighting fixtures, vents, and other hard-to-reach areas.
  • Wash and dust surfaces such as mirrors, furniture, and stainless steel.
  • Handle linen and personal clothing in accordance with department protocols.
  • Inventory distribution and management.

  • Shifts are offered as vacancies and coverage needs occur, with no set hours per week.
  • Receive an additional 10% premium pay to the base hourly rate due to per diem status.

What We're Looking For:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of common cleaning supplies and tools.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of safe cleaning methods and infection control practices (training provided).
  • A team player who takes pride in maintaining a clean, comfortable environment.
  • Reliability, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
