Job Description

Arena is seeking a full-time or part-time client accounting specialist to support the day-to-day financial management of our small and medium-sized business clients. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys client interaction and can work independently in a fast-paced, fully remote environment. You will ensure transactions and budgets are accurately recorded and reported while serving as a trusted point of contact for client financial questions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate general ledger records and perform regular account reconciliations.
• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable for multiple clients, including invoicing, collections follow-up, and vendor payments.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reports for clients.
• Assist with tax preparation support and coordination with external tax professionals.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow tracking, and simple scenario planning as requested.
• Ensure compliance with general accounting principles and relevant regulations.
• Communicate regularly with clients to explain financial results in clear, non-technical language and answer financial questions.
• Identify and suggest process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience (public, private, or client-service).
• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, bookkeeping, and basic tax concepts.
• Experience with accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships.
• Experience working remotely with a distributed team.
• Ability to apply general accounting principles and relevant laws and regulations in a fast-paced environment.
• QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certification (Required).
