Job Summary
Saline Area Social Service is is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing food insecurity and supporting individuals and families in our community. Beyond providing nutritious food, we connect clients to essential services that promote stability, dignity, and long-term well-being.
We are seeking a Client Service Advocate (CSA) that will play a vital role in supporting pantry clients by providing case management, resource navigation, crisis intervention, and advocacy services. This position works directly with individuals and families experiencing food insecurity, housing instability, unemployment, and other challenges. The CSA collaborates with community partners to ensure clients receive comprehensive support beyond food assistance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct client intakes and needs assessments
- Provide case management and individualized service planning
- Connect clients with community resources (housing, healthcare, employment, SNAP/WIC, mental health services, etc.)
- Offer crisis intervention and short-term counseling as needed
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records
- Develop and maintain relationships with local service providers and partner agencies
- Assist with outreach initiatives and community education programs
- Support volunteers and staff in trauma-informed, client-centered service practices
- Participate in program evaluation and reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work (BSW or MSW) or related field
- Active state licensure (if required) preferred
- 5+ years of experience in social services, case management, or community-based work
- Knowledge of local social service systems and public benefits programs
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience working with diverse and underserved populations
- Commitment to equity, dignity, and community empowerment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (especially Spanish or other languages spoken in the community)
- Experience in food security, homelessness services, or nonprofit settings
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care and strengths-based approaches

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
