Climbing Wall Instructor

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Climbing Wall Instructor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising climbing activities, ensuring strict adherence to safety procedures, delivering high-quality instruction, and providing excellent customer service to climbers of all ages and skill levels.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Supervision

• Supervise climbers at all times and enforce safety rules.
• Conduct safety briefings and inductions before climbing sessions.
• Inspect harnesses, ropes, belay devices, and climbing holds daily.
• Ensure correct belaying techniques and safe climbing practices.
• Respond effectively to emergencies and incidents.

Instruction & Coaching

• Deliver group class and one-to-one climbing sessions.
• Teach basic to intermediate climbing techniques.
• Conduct belay training and competency assessments.
• Provide constructive feedback to improve participants’ skills and confidence.

Operations & Maintenance

• Perform routine equipment checks and report defects.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the climbing area.
• Complete incident reports and operational documentation as required.

Customer Service

• Welcome and engage customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Support birthday parties, school groups, corporate events, and special events.
• Promote a positive and safe climbing environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Climbing Instructor or in a similar role.
• Recognized climbing qualification (e.g., CWI, or equivalent preferred).
• Valid First Aid & CPR certification.
• Strong knowledge of climbing equipment and safety procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physically fit and able to demonstrate climbing techniques.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
