Clinical Assistant

Job Summary
The Lung Health Center of MetroWest is a busy pulmonary practice seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential clinical and administrative support in an outpatient setting. The Medical Assistant will work with providers to deliver high-quality patient services and maintain efficient workflow. Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding, and EHR systems.

A primary part of this role will include pulmonary function testing with plenty of training. No prior PFT experience is needed.

Responsibilities

• Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate
• Assist with clinical procedures including urgent transport when applicable
• Maintain accurate documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
• Provide patient education on treatment plans and post-care instructions
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols including Basic Life Support (BLS) standards

Skills

• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
• Proficiency with EHR systems and medical administrative support tasks
• Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to care delivery
• Ability to perform clinical tasks such as vital signs collection, medication administration
• Ability to work efficiently and ability to be self-directed and stay busy without constant direction.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred but not mandatory
