Job Overview

Access Point Healthcare is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Clinical Inbox Coordinator to support our providers by managing electronic medical record (EMR) workflows and clinical communications. This role serves as an essential part of the care team by reviewing incoming documents, laboratory results, imaging reports, specialist correspondence, patient messages, and clinical tasks to ensure providers receive timely and accurate information.

The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism. This position plays a critical role in supporting provider productivity, improving patient care coordination, and maintaining complete and accurate medical records.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage provider inboxes within the electronic medical record system.
  • Review incoming laboratory results, imaging reports, consultation notes, hospital records, and other clinical documents.
  • Route documents, tasks, and patient communications to the appropriate provider or department.
  • Identify urgent or time-sensitive clinical items and escalate them appropriately.
  • Assist providers with document review, chart organization, and completion of outstanding clinical tasks.
  • Ensure medical records are complete, organized, and accurately maintained within the EMR.
  • Assist with patient result notifications, referrals, and follow-up workflow processes as directed by providers.
  • Monitor open encounters, unsigned documents, and pending clinical items to support timely chart completion.
  • Communicate effectively with providers, medical assistants, front office staff, laboratories, imaging centers, hospitals, pharmacies, and specialists.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance provider efficiency and patient care coordination.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting required.
  • Experience with electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) systems preferred.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage competing deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with clinical staff.
  • Experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, Patient Care Coordinator, Referral Coordinator, Medical Records Specialist, or similar healthcare role is preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with primary care, urgent care, or outpatient clinical workflows.
  • Experience reviewing medical records and clinical documentation.
  • Knowledge of laboratory, imaging, referral, and medication management workflows.
  • Ability to identify documentation deficiencies and assist with chart completion processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and healthcare technology platforms.

Pay: $16.50 - $19.00 per hour
