Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Clinical Coder to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately translating medical records into standardised codes, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and supporting effective data analysis. Duties
- Analyse patient medical records and documentation to assign accurate clinical codes using recognised coding standards using EMIS and DOCMAN
- Ensure all coding complies with relevant legal, ethical, and organisational guidelines.
- Workflow clinical actions to the appropriate team members (e.g., GP, Nurse, Receptionist) based on practice protocols
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify documentation or resolve coding ambiguities.
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate records of coding activities and support audits or quality assurance processes.
- Provide guidance and support to team members regarding coding procedures and best practices.
- Keep abreast of updates in coding standards, healthcare regulations, and relevant IT developments.
- Support practices in meeting key NHS targets like QOF and IIF through coding optimisation
Requirements
- Proven experience in clinical coding or health information management.
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex medical documentation accurately.
- Confident analysing medical terminology and patient histories
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to liaise with healthcare teams and stakeholders.
- Organisational skills capable of managing multiple records simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.

Pay: £12.75-£13.00 per hour
