Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Clinical Coordinator to join our rehabilitative, Assistive Technology team. In this vital role, you will be responsible coordinating, monitoring, and supporting high‑quality, responsive referrals and services of Louisiana Medicaid Waiver participants.

Responsibilities

  • Manage patient intake processes, including scheduling appointments and verifying insurance coverage and prior authorizations for services.
  • Review and update medical records accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with medical billing procedures, including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and Medicare claims processing to facilitate timely reimbursements.
  • Support clinical staff by preparing care plans, documenting treatment notes, and reviewing documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with referring agencies to ensure timely and accurate service coordination and delivery.
  • Maintain organized medical records and ensure proper filing of medical documents in accordance with health information management standards.
  • Utilize computer skills in Microsoft Office and other office management software to generate reports and manage administrative tasks efficiently.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality standards in line with HIPAA guidelines during all patient interactions and documentation review processes.

Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/10 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing practices.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, Simple Practice.
  • Strong understanding of health information management principles and HIPAA compliance requirements.
  • Experience with insurance verification processes for Louisiana Medicaid and other insurance providers.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks such as appointment scheduling, documentation review, and filing efficiently.
  • Exceptional communication skills including phone etiquette and the ability to assist patients in a bilingual capacity if needed.
  • Strong understanding of the Medicaid Waiver Programs for the OCDD and OAAS.
  • Demonstrated clerical experience in a busy case management agencies, medical or dental office environment with front desk responsibilities.
  • Adept at using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for documentation and reporting purposes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of allied health professionals while maintaining attention to detail in all administrative functions.

Pay: $24.79 - $27.88 per hour

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Required)

Experience:

  • Clinical Case Management: 5 years (Required)
  • Louisiana Medicaid Waiver Coordination: 3 years (Preferred)
