Clinical Coordinator for Risk Management

The Progress Place is seeking a highly organized, clinically experienced, and detail-oriented professional to serve as the Clinical Coordinator for Risk Management. This role provides direct support to the Clinical Director while strengthening agency-wide oversight related to risk management, crisis response, documentation compliance, and clinical quality assurance.

The ideal candidate must possess strong leadership, crisis management, and

documentation review skills with the ability to provide real-time support to clinical staff

within a fast-paced behavioral health environment.

Position Details:

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Position Purpose:

The Clinical Coordinator for Risk Management will provide direct operational and clinical

support to the Clinical Director to help maintain a manageable and sustainable clinical

oversight responsibilities across the agency. This role focuses heavily on crisis

documentation, risk management monitoring, psychiatric diagnosis review, compliance

oversight and staff support.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead weekly meetings with the Medical Records Department to review clients identified with SI/HI concerns.
  • Oversee the Risk Management Project with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of weekly CSSRS documentation.
  • Support the Crisis/Incident Report Project and Collateral Report Project to ensure quality, completion, and follow-up.
  • Conduct daily reviews of diagnoses entered by Doctors and Assessors to ensure

clinical accuracy and alignment with billing standards.

  • Review and address CSSRS submissions and crisis concerns promptly.
  • Complete and document a minimum of four four-month reviews each week.
  • Review collateral documentation outside of treatment plan updates and address documentation deficiencies.
  • Provide real-time clinical guidance and support to staff to assist with crisis

situations, documentation concerns, and compliance questions.

  • Collaborate with Medical Records, Clinical Leadership, Psychiatry, Risk Management, and direct service staff to improve quality outcomes.
  • Monitor compliance with Medicaid, DBHDD, and organizational standards.
  • Assist with agency audit readiness and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related behavioral

health field, required.

  • Georgia clinical license preferred:

o LPC

o LCSW

o LMFT

o Or equivalent clinical licensure

  • Minimum of three years of clinical experience within behavioral health settings.
  • Strong knowledge of Medicaid and DBHDD standards and documentation requirements.
  • Experience with crisis intervention, risk management, and clinical documentation review.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple departments while maintaining professionalism and urgency.
  • Experience working within community-based behavioral health settings preferred.

Performance Expectations:

  • Facilitate weekly Medical Records meetings with accurate SI/HI review processes.
  • Ensure weekly CSSRS documentation is completed accurately and within required timeframes.
  • Complete and document at least four four-month reviews weekly.
  • Maintain daily oversight of psychiatric diagnoses and billing alignment.
  • Provide timely and effective real-time staff support and issue resolution.
  • Support ongoing agency compliance, audit readiness, and clinical quality initiatives.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Experience with electronic medical record systems
  • Strong understanding of crisis response workflows and behavioral health compliance standards
  • Ability to work independently while supporting leadership initiatives
