  • Volunteers of America of Florida is seeking a full-time Clinical Coordinator (LCSW or LMHC) to provide clinical oversight and direct care support to vulnerable adults across Hillsborough County. This position is responsible for overseeing all direct care services and staff, ensuring clinical documentation is completed accurately and timely, and supporting compliance with funder, grant, licensing, and audit requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical leadership and documentation compliance and be motivated to implement an organized and structured team-based approach to direct care services. The candidate must be willing to meet with participants in the community and comfortably serve individuals with limited economic resources and/or those in affordable housing programs, and those with mental health and substance-related needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide in-person, office and community-based clinical services and oversight to vulnerable adult populations.
  • Supervise and support assigned Case Manager(s), including guidance on participant needs, service planning, documentation, and follow-up.
  • Complete clinical assessments, interventions, diagnoses, treatment/service planning, and ongoing participant reviews.
  • Provide therapeutic clinical interventions, crisis support, group therapy sessions, and appropriate referrals based on participant needs.
  • Initiate or support Baker Act processes when clinically appropriate and necessary.
  • Ensure participant records are accurately maintained in the Electronic Health Record system.
  • Complete timely clinical notes, assessments, service plans, progress updates, and other required documentation.
  • Ensure services meet DCF and/or other grant requirements, funder expectations, program standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Prepare for and participate in audits, monitoring visits, funder reviews, peer reviews, agency-wide meetings, and internal compliance activities.
  • Collaborate with programme leadership, direct care staff, funders, community partners, and external providers.
  • Monitor service delivery to ensure participants receive appropriate, ethical, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and person-centered care.
  • Lead site-specific clinical trainings, complete hiring and onboarding tasks for new staff, facilitate re-occurring direct care staff meetings.
  • Support a safe and professional program environment for participants, staff, and visitors.

Required Qualifications

  • Active and unrestricted Florida license (LCSW or LMHC) required.
  • Experience diagnosing and providing outpatient therapeutic clinical interventions.
  • Strong documentation skills and experience using an Electronic Health Record system.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in-person and provide hands-on support to staff and participants.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with individuals facing homelessness, behavioral health needs, substance use concerns, trauma, housing instability, or complex barriers.
  • Experience with Baker Act, Marchman Act, and DCF reporting.
  • Experience preparing for audits, funder monitoring, grant reporting, or compliance reviews.
  • Experience supervising case managers and direct care staff.
  • Knowledge of person-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented care.
