Clinical Coordinator (RN)

The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the clinical performance and compliance of the licensed providers at A-TEC Ambulance, Inc. This includes ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal regulations and protocols as well as organizational policies and procedures related to EMS care. The Clinical Coordinator conducts quality assurance audits, trains and educates staff, and promotes a culture of excellent patient care.

THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION. POSITION TAKES PLACE IN ELGIN, IL.

Education:
  • Currently licensed nurse in the state of Illinois. Required.
  • Current PHRN, ACLS, PALS, trauma, and CPR certifications. Required.
  • Nationally recognized board certification and Lead Instructor license preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Review electronic and written Patient Care Reports (PCRs) for accuracy, completeness, protocol compliance, and clinical quality.
  • Identify trends, documentation issues, or clinical performance gaps and communicate findings to leadership.
  • Provide feedback to staff and collaborate on improvement plans when necessary.
  • Conduct clinical onboarding for new field staff, including protocol orientation, skills verification, and workflow introduction.
  • Ensure new employees meet all competency requirements before entering independent practice.
  • Serve as a resource for guiding new personnel through clinical expectations and organizational culture.
  • Coordinate and lead monthly clinical‑focused staff meetings.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, educational topics, performance updates, and policy refreshers.
  • Facilitate open communication and address staff questions or clinical concerns.
  • Develop individualized remediation plans for employees needing targeted clinical improvement.
  • Conduct skills retraining, protocol refreshers, or documentation coaching as needed.
  • Track progress and document completion of remedial requirements.
  • Create, update, and deliver continuing education modules aligned with state requirements and organizational goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed CE for staff certification and compliance.
  • Ensure educational content supports best practices and current clinical standards.
  • Assists with call volume as operationally needed.
Skills:
  • Strong understanding of EMS protocols, scope of practice, and clinical standards.
  • Proficiency in reviewing and evaluating PCRs for clinical quality and overall compliance.
  • Ability to identify trends or gaps in clinical performance and documentation.
  • Skilled in developing and delivering continuing education and competency‑based training.
  • Strong presentation and teaching skills for diverse learner groups.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects, meetings, and training programs simultaneously.
  • Clear and professional communication in both written and verbal formats.
  • Skilled in writing reports, summaries, and improvement plans.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working with field providers, supervisors, and external partners.
