Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to join our dental office that specializes in periodontics. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the team in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow - expect to follow through with your patient's care from the new patient exam to the last post-operative appointment.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, including sterilization of all instruments and following proper infection control protocols.
- Support hygiene team members with periodontal charting and scheduling patients.
- Manage patient records using Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Maintain and clean office equipment.
Experience
- Certification in radiography is mandatory -- assistance with obtaining credentials can be offered.
- Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Certification in coronal polishing is preferred but not mandatory.
- Certification in phlebotomy practices and IV training are an asset.
- Proficiency in using Dentrix, or similar dental management software, is an asset.
