Clinical Director Full Time

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, occasional evenings and/or weekends.

Position Summary


The Clinical Director is responsible for the overall quality, effectiveness, and delivery of clinical services. The Clinical Director leads clinical operations ensuring high-quality, compliant care by supervising staff, developing treatment programs, overseeing documentation, managing quality improvement, handling regulatory compliance and serving as a liaison with community partners, while fostering a supportive environment for client care and staff growth through evidence-based practices and leadership.


The Clinical Director role requires a dynamic leader with a strong background in mental health and SUD treatment, excellent management skills, and a passion for helping individuals overcome substance use disorders and mental health challenges. The ideal Clinical Director will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and driving continuous improvement in our clinical operations.


Required Qualifications


  • Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field from an accredited institution required.
  • At least two year’s training and/or clinical experience providing individual, group, and family therapy in a behavioral health, mental health, or substance use disorder treatment setting required.
  • Experience with treatment planning, clinical documentation, crisis intervention, and evidence-based therapeutic modalities required.
  • Prior work in residential, outpatient, or multidisciplinary treatment environments preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible experience in clinical supervision and/or program management within a behavioral health, mental health or substance use disorder treatment setting preferred.
  • Current state licensure or licensure eligibility (e.g., LMFT, LCSW, LMHC, or equivalent).
  • At least two years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Active, unrestricted full clinical license in North Carolina (e.g., LMFT, LCSW, LMHC, or equivalent) required.
  • Dual licensure or certification in Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment strongly preferred.
  • First Aid/ CPR Certification
  • Crisis Intervention Certification
