Clinical Director of Access and Emergency Services

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to work as Clinical Director for Access and Emergency Services.

What You Will Be Doing
The Clinical Director for the Same Day Access and Emergency Services Department is a senior leadership position responsible for a full continuum of crisis services directly operated supporting all populations, including youth, adults and individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Services will include, but are not limited to, eligibility for services, emergency mental health, intensive crisis stabilization, and rapid, home-and community-based responses to emergencies (Mobile Crisis Services) 24/7. You will provide oversight to a team of highly qualified supervisors to ensure excellence in clinical services while meeting technical program compliance. You will meet regularly with teams within the department, community, and participate in organizational teams to ensure quality processes, and provide direction on system processes and changes. You will provide leadership to ensure outcome driven services integrated into our local system of care that incorporates adults, parents and youth voices. You will also review program management reports and ensure compliance with Michigan Health and Human Services regulations and requirements. You will serve as a resource, connecting programs and staff with provider supports and services to meet community and individual needs.

What We Require
You should have previous experience collaborating with persons of diverse racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, demonstrate a high degree of knowledge of clinical practices, demonstrate methodical problem-solving, past experience working in crisis services for adults and youth, have experience in data analysis, compliance reporting, and technical Medicaid service rules. Must be able to work in an often stressful, fast-paced work environment. Ability to demonstrate strengths of an exceptional leader including building trust and respect, promoting harmony and teamwork, and excels at problem-solving and communication.

  • Master's degree required in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology along with a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW), Licensed Psychologist (LP), Limited License Psychologist (LLP) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) .
  • Minimum of three years program management experience in mental health and/or substance abuse working with identified target population, plus three years administrative and supervisory experience
  • Five years working within crisis services & CAADC preferred.
  • Experience in a Community Mental Health setting and/or experience in clinical service delivery preferred.
  • Advanced computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and electronic health records.
  • Valid Michigan Driver’s license required.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

Physical Efforts – Job demands include prolonged sitting and standing as appropriate. May occasionally require light lifting up to 25 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or bending as appropriate. Requires coordination of hands and/or eye/hand/foot.

Working Conditions – Office environment with noise from computers, copy machine, and telephones. Use of computer for periods in excess of 30 minutes at a time. Possible eyestrain from extended periods of viewing computer screen. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and parasites. Travel throughout the Kalamazoo area is required.
