Position Overview:
As the Clinical Informaticist, you will drive the strategic implementation and optimization of Health Information Technology (HIT) across the Community Health Centers (CHCs). You will serve as a bridge between clinical needs and technical solutions, overseeing complex initiatives in Interoperability, AI Governance, and Health Information Exchange (HIE). This role is pivotal in ensuring our HIT & digital health tools deliver maximum value to clinicians and patients while ensuring projects remain on-time, on-budget, and compliant with grant requirements.

Essential Duties:

HIT Strategy & Innovation

  • Thought Leadership: Provide expertise on clinical software solutions (EHR, Patient Portals, Digital Tools) specifically tailored for the Community Health Center environment.
  • AI & Interoperability: Support the development of organizational plans for AI Governance, monitoring AI solution usage, and mapping use cases for interoperability needs.
  • Tech Optimization: Analyze current IT activities to recommend optimizations or the acquisition of new high-value technology solutions.
  • Business Alignment: Research CHC needs through onsite clinical interviews and workflow analysis to ensure a high "business fit" for all HIT interventions.

Project Governance & Execution

  • Full Lifecycle Management: Develop and monitor comprehensive project plans, including scheduling, risk mitigation, change management, and status reporting.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage project budgets and ensure strict compliance with grant-funded reporting requirements.
  • Delivery Excellence: Oversee execution from kickoff to completion, proactively solving bottlenecks to ensure timely delivery of new HIE services.
  • Partnership Development: Build and maintain strategic alliances with external vendors, stakeholders, and interdisciplinary innovation teams.
  • Stakeholder Alignment & Engagement: Partners with end users to understand workflows and define system support needs. Translates clinical and business requirements into actionable specifications and maintains requirements documentation.

Application Management & Support

  • Application Configuration & Clinical Integration: Ensures applications are configured for efficiency, stability, security, and accessibility, aligned with clinical best practices and operational workflows to support optimal outcomes.
  • User Training & Support: Educates users on configuration changes.

Education/Training/Years:

  • Education: Master of Science in Clinical/Health Informatics (Required).
  • Experience: 2+ years of project or program management experience specifically within the HIT or Medical Informatics field.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of EHR systems, HIE infrastructure, and the evolving landscape of digital health tools.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a "business-oriented" mindset.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to generate trust, build alliances, and resolve conflicts in a collaborative, collegial environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Collaboration: Work as part of a high-performing, multidisciplinary team.
  • Subject to AllianceChicago work location policy, may be remote with some in-person requirements.
  • General office setting, extensive telephone and desk work at computer terminal.
  • Travel: This role requires local and national travel to various member Health Centers and satellites.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work effectively in a variety of settings, including temporary workspaces at clinical sites.

Pay: $115,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
