Ensure our facility is compliant to the appropriate guidelines

Ensure organization is audit ready for CLIA/CAP/CMS

Liaison with Clinical Laboratory Director and lead the charge with building our clinical testing group

Identify and resolve problems that may adversely affect test outcomes and either correct the problem or report it immediately to Medical Director.

Generate and archive reports for corrective action performed in laboratory, if necessary.

Write and follow written SOPs as well as be able to identify and gap fill missing procedures, if necessary.

Perform competency analysis for laboratory staff, including CLSs and MLTs.
Competencies
-
Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license
-
Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
-
Must be detail-oriented and comfortable with technology

Must have good written and oral communication skills
-
Working knowledge of handling potentially infectious human blood and body fluids

Good pipetting skills and understanding of aseptic techniques
-
Ability to work with automated and manual platforms
-
Analytical judgment, problem solving skills, accuracy and strong attention to details
-
High level of integrity and honesty in performing tests, documenting test results and maintaining patient, client, employee and laboratory business confidentiality
-
Must have strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to prioritize workflow in a high-throughput laboratory environment.

Proven track record with CLIA/CAP/CMS audit preparedness

Mass spectroscopy experience is a big plus

National Certification as MLS (ASCP) or MT (ASCP)
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
