Clinical Laboratory Chemistry Technician (Edison)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced (3+ years) Chemistry Medical Laboratory Technician to join our Medical Lab Team located in Edison, NJ.

As a Chemistry Lab Technician, you will be responsible for conducting Calibrations, QS, process and validate Chemistry tests on patient's samples. You will work closely with laboratory staff and scientists to ensure accurate and timely results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analysis: Conduct Chemistry, Biochemical, Hematological, and Immunological tests on bodily fluids.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Calibrate, QC, maintain, and troubleshoot automated laboratory analyzers and lab equipment.
  • Quality Control: Ensure test accuracy by monitoring performance and adhering to strict quality control protocols.
  • Sample Management: Receive, handle, and process specimens, such as blood or tissue samples, observing strict safety and asepsis rules.

Requirements

  • Education: An Associate’s degree or postsecondary certificate in medical laboratory science or a related field is typical (Bachelor in related field is A+)
  • Experience: Must have over 3 years Chemistry Lab Tech experience in a Clinical Laboratory, in roles involving high-complexity tests.
  • Certification: Certification from organizations like the American Medical Technologists (AMT) is A+
  • Skills: Strong attention to details, proficiency with laboratory software, and ability to handle high-volume, automated workflows.

Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory tests and experiments according to established procedures and protocols
- Prepare samples, specimens, and reagents for testing
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments
- Record and analyze data, documenting results accurately
- Assist in the development of new laboratory techniques and procedures
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and regulations
- Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment
- Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot issues and optimize laboratory processes

- Other duties as needed

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, procedures, and equipment
- Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
- Experience in histology or clinical laboratory settings is a plus
- Knowledge of scientific research principles and methodologies
- Understanding of CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) guidelines

- Must know How to operate Beckman Coulter, Access, sysmex machine.
