Clinical Laboratory Scientist

Job Description:

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) performs complex laboratory testing across multiple disciplines to support the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patient conditions. As a generalist, the CLS works independently and collaborates with clinical teams to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality laboratory results. Basic experience in Microbiology and Blood Bank is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform analytical testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Immunology, Microbiology, and Blood Bank.
• Validate, interpret, and report laboratory results with accuracy and precision.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and analyzers.
• Perform specimen handling, processing, and storage according to established protocols.
• Conduct quality control, quality assurance, and proficiency testing in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Identify critical values and communicate them promptly to appropriate clinical personnel.
• Follow laboratory safety practices and infection control guidelines.
• Document all testing procedures and results in the laboratory information system (LIS).
• Assist in training and orientation of new staff or students as needed.
• Collaborate with pathologists, physicians, and clinical teams to support patient care.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related field (required).
• Valid state CLS license or equivalent certification, if applicable.
• ASCP, AMT, or AAB certification preferred.
• Experience as a generalist with basic skills in Microbiology and Blood Bank strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of laboratory principles, instrumentation, and diagnostic workflows.

Pay: $2,500.00 - $2,600.00 per week
