Clinical Laboratory Technician

This is a clinical laboratory looking for a responsible individual to prepare and run patient specimens in a high-complexity clinical laboratory.

Primary responsibilities include day-to-day operation and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation and sample accession & preparation of patient specimens. Positivity, team-work, and effective communication with supervisors on a daily basis is expected and required.

Responsibilities:

Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, including the tracking and maintenance of patient identifiers throughout the testing process.
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance on immunoassay analyzer.
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance on Thermo Fisher (PCR, Indiko), BD Max (PCR) and LC/MS (Sciex) instrumentation.
Adhere to laboratory quality control policies including performing and documenting all QC activities and performing instrument and procedural calibrations on both instruments.
Follow laboratory procedures for specimen processing on Thermo Fisher immunoassay analyzer.
Follow established method for preparing and running patient specimens on EIA and LC/MS/MS instrumentation. Relevant skills include accurate and precise use of micro-pipettes.
Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and correct the problem or notify the appropriate supervisor.
Document thoroughly all laboratory activities including corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from established performance specifications.

Administration duties including reporting all results to the clinics EMR, assist in reporting failed validity results, responding to company wide questions and/or concerns, levy jennings weekly updates, Inventory tracking and ordering.

Educational and experience requirements:

Associate's and/or Bachelor’s degree in a laboratory science (i.e. Chemistry)
LC/MS/MS experience, preferred
Previous laboratory work-experience
