Overview
This is a medical scribe position. The ideal candidate is someone applying to a health professional school and desires experience to make them a more competitive candidate to gain admission. You will be working side by side with the physician. You will learn how to prescribe medications, chart and function in a medical office. This is an ideal position for someone seeking to become a physician, physician assistant, nurse, dentist, podiatrist, chiropractor etc. The supervising physician has helped enable several of his medical scribes to gain entrance into the most competitive medical and physician assistant schools.
Schedule : Monday through Friday 9 am to 5 pm.
Location: The office is located in midtown Phoenix near Banner UMC, Phoenix Children's Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital.
Pay: $19/hour - willing to offer competitive pay for the right candidate.
Duties
- Accurately transcribe patient information during medical examinations and consultations.
- Document medical histories, physical exams, and treatment plans in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Assist healthcare providers by ensuring that all necessary medical documentation is completed promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient records and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to enhance documentation quality.
- Support the organization of medical records for easy retrieval and compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
- Valid Driver's License.
- BA or BS 4 year college degree required.
- Must currently be located in the Phoenix Metropolitan area. We do not offer relocation expenses.
- No prior experience in transcription needed.
- Must be able to work FULL TIME - 40 hours per week job. This is not a position for someone who is also seeking to do classes at night or hold a second job. This is a full time position that requires your full participation.
- Minimum 12 month commitment - competitive candidates will ideally be able to commit 2 years but will take candidates who can commit a full 12 months to the position.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent typing skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.

Desired Skills
- Spanish speaking - we see a lot of patients who speak Spanish so fluent in Spanish is a bonus.
