Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in providing mental health support to diverse populations, particularly in outpatient settings. This role requires expertise in various therapeutic modalities, including crisis intervention and behavioral therapy, while also being adaptable to the needs of children and families. As a Clinical Counselor, you will play a crucial role in enhancing patient care through effective counseling techniques and therapeutic interventions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to determine their mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide crisis intervention services to clients experiencing acute psychological distress.
- Facilitate telehealth sessions to ensure accessibility for clients unable to attend in-person appointments.
- Implement evidence-based therapies, including art therapy and behavioral therapy, tailored to the unique needs of each client.
- Offer specialized counseling for pediatric patients and their families, focusing on child family counseling techniques.
- Support clients dealing with chronic pain through appropriate counseling strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and treatment progress in compliance with clinic policies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and treatment outcomes.
Experience
- A Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is required.
- Valid licensure as a professional counselor or therapist is preferred.
- Experience in outpatient settings with a focus on crisis intervention and behavioral therapy is essential.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms and practices is highly desirable.
- Previous experience working with pediatric populations and providing child family counseling is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds are critical for success in this role.
