We are looking for a Therapist to provide clinical treatment services involving individuals mandated or referred for sexual offense-specific treatment in compliance with the California Sex Offender Management Board (CASOMB) standards.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Models and engages clients to participate in screening process and work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to develop case plans, provide linkage to care based on their individual needs, preference, and objectives.

- Participates in ongoing multi-disciplinary team meetings providing education and consultation with regards to linkage to behavioral health and ancillary services within system of care.

- Leads coordination of appropriate level of care linkage for Post Release Offenders to community behavioral health and ancillary services.

- Responsible for identification, awareness and establishing contacts of specific community resources for justice involved population and the enrollment process.

- Conduct comprehensive behavioral health screenings and exemplify the use of evidence-based techniques to help participants identify and understand intrinsic goals and engage in behavior change.

- Guides clinical care consultations with California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation personnel, Kern County Sherriff’s Department, Bakersfield Police Department, probation officers, and other community treatment providers.

- Review available behavioral health history to assess for safety risks, provide crisis intervention, coordinate services, and assure appropriate level of care for participants.

- Provides ongoing education of behavioral health system of care to providers, consumers and other stakeholders.

- Makes suggestions for change and improvements in the functioning of the department and coordination of care.

- Adheres to pertinent HIPAA rules and regulations while maintaining timely and appropriate clinical documentation records.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Must have completed all education and licensing requirements for independent mental health practice in California.

-Must hold and maintain an active California license (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, Psychologist, or equivalent in jurisdiction for telehealth cases)

-Within the last 5 years, must have at least 1,000 hours of direct clinical experience including a minimum of 200 hours specifically in sex offender treatment or evaluation.

-Authorized to provide sex offender treatment independently without supervision.

- Meets all state required conditions of employment as set forth by funder and regulatory body, i.e. Fingerprint and Child Abuse Index Clearance, TB/Health Physical.

DESIRED SKILLS

- Licensed or pre-licensure status which permits individual to provide mental health services under the proper supervision or exempt status.

- Possess a strong understanding of therapeutic techniques and interventions.

- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with clients and their families.

- Ability to assess and diagnose mental health and behavioral health disorders.

- Knowledge of forensic psychology principles and practices.

- Familiarity with clinical research methodologies and data collection techniques.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $60,000.00 - $63,000.00 per year
