Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical Nurse Lead to join our healthcare team on a part time basis. Therefore this role would suit someone looking for a 2nd job or extra hours in addition to their working week. We are also happy to consider retirees from the NHS ie: ex district nurses, care home managers who still have their NMC PIN in situ.
The hours are flexible and a hybrid of Community Care & Remote Working so the hours, days etc can be adjusted to meet both the applicant and employer’s needs.
The successful candidate will provide 1-1 clinical nursing care to a disabled lady iwith multiple health needs ensuring her safety, comfort, and well-being. The Nurse will provide a vital role in leading a small team of nursing care assistants, developing their core skills, teaching them how to complete personalised Care Plans, MAR charts and Risk Assessments etc. The nurse will also be collaborating with the patient’s GP and other multidisciplinary teams to deliver high quality, holistic patient care to a severely disabled adult with multiple illnesses and disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care and leadership in accordance with established protocols and care plans
- Monitor the patient’s medical conditions, recognise changes, and respond appropriately to ensure safety and comfort.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate personalised care plans tailored to the individual‘s health needs
- Administer medications and treatments accurately, adhering to legal and organisational guidelines
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of patient progress and interventions
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care and provide education
- Lead by example in promoting best practices in infection control, medication procedures, and care standards
- Supervise a small team of Nursing Support Assistants and support their ongoing training and development
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse qualification recognised by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and be registered with a NMC Pin.
- Proven 10 + years experience in a NHS clinical setting, demonstrating strong nursing skills and knowledge of care protocols
- Previous experience of changing female adult supra pubic catheters is essential.
- Leadership qualities and qualifications with the ability to motivate and guide the other team members compassionately.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise confidently with the patient, her family, and other health colleagues
- Strong organisational skills with effective time management to prioritise tasks efficiently
- Ability to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to the patient’s individual health needs and complete risk assessments necessary to her home, care and the workplace.
