We are looking for an experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Pituitary Service at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in the care of patients with pituitary and related skull base conditions, supporting them across the full pathway from referral and investigation through surgery and long term follow up. The post holder will work as part of a highly specialised multidisciplinary team, providing expert clinical support, coordination and advice in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including nurse led clinics and telephone support.
As a Registered Nurse you will be responsible for supporting your Manager and the pituitary team in ensuring that our service users’ needs are met through the delivery of high-quality care. As a centre of excellence, you will offer a person-centred approach to their independence and well-being.
The post holder will coordinate and deliver specialist nursing care for patients with pituitary disease, ensuring a seamless and well communicated pathway across inpatient, outpatient and follow up care. This includes running nurse led clinics, supporting patients before and after surgery, arranging and reviewing investigations, providing education and advice to patients, families and healthcare professionals, and acting as a key link between neurosurgery, endocrinology, ophthalmology, radiology and referring teams. The role also includes participation in MDT meetings, service development, audit, research and the development of protocols and guidance to support high quality care.
