Clinical Operations Coordinator RN

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Operations Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact and liaison who collaborates with the CNO on key initiatives. Participates and serves as lead and liaison for Division based PI Bed Management activities and (FSA) Facility Scheduler Administrator. Serves as a resource and provides guidance, along with mentorship to other staff members. Promotes initiatives for service excellence, staff engagement, and recognition programs to sustain both internal and external customer satisfaction. Attend, facilitate and encourage staff participation in departmental projects, hospital committees, and council meetings with appropriate follow-up.

This position supports the CNO in obtaining, compiling, and disseminating data within this scope of employee and patient services, in addition to coordinating communication forums related to this data. Collaborate with different departments (inpatient units, quality, pharmacy, radiology, lab, ER, registration, etc.) to resolve issues and improve workflow processes throughout the organization using a proactive approach. Collaborates with each department and area to ensure that satisfaction drivers are addressed on an ongoing basis. Guides the assessment of patient satisfaction metrics, and nursing engagement actions, along with executive leadership at the division and facility level to engage the organization in continually improving programs to increase and sustain internal and external customer satisfaction.

This position demonstrates a high degree of responsibility and accountability, and as directed by the CNO implements initiatives and evaluates their effectiveness.

  • Develops and implements strategies to help recruit and retain clinical staff.
  • Provides support for a mentorship program, Partners with nursing leaders to identify and pair mentees with mentors.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of regulatory requirements, HCA Ethics and Compliance policies, and quality initiatives.
  • Assist the facility with house-wide project work.
  • Assist hospital administration team in tracking and trending patient throughput.
  • Serves as local resource and subject matter expert for end-users of bed management system (BMAC, Teletracking).
  • Serves as facility point of contact for division PI Bed Management team.
  • Participates with division-based PI Bed Management activities.
  • Collaborate with different departments (inpatient units, quality, pharmacy, radiology, lab, ER, registration etc.) to resolve issues and improve work flow processes throughout the organization using a proactive approach.
  • Provides clinical consultation and guidance as needed to facilitate patient throughput.
  • Gives assistance and/or direction to staff to facilitate quality patient flow.
  • Promotes an atmosphere of open communication that facilitates staff input into decision-making, resolution of conflict, and collegiality among all health team members.
  • Along with the CNO develop and present a comprehensive plan that includes short- and long-term goals; HCAHPS agenda forward and sustain facility HCAHPS scores above the CMS average.
  • Attend, facilitate and encourage staff participation in departmental projects, hospital committees, and council meetings with appropriate follow-up.
  • Coordinates and leads projects as needed.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
  • Current RN VA license or has a compact multistate license.
  • RN with at least 3 years of nursing experience. Previous leadership or comparable experience. Prior experience leading change management initiatives preferred.
