Clinical Patient Coordinator and Optometric Tech

Job Title: Clinical Patient Coordinator & Optometric Tech – Private Practice

About the Role: We are looking for a professional, patient-focused individual to serve as the primary face and "right hand" of our clinical optometry practice. Because we do not have a retail optical, our focus is entirely on providing an elite medical and wellness experience. As we grow as a practice, you will bridge the gap between high-tech clinical testing and expert patient advocacy, ensuring every person who walks through our door feels prioritized and well-cared for.

What You’ll Do:

  • Patient Concierge: Act as the dedicated point of contact for our patients. You will manage the practice’s energy, from the first warm greeting to the final check-out.
  • Billing & Insurance Expert: Take ownership of the "behind-the-scenes" essentials. This includes verifying medical and vision benefits, obtaining authorizations, and ensuring accurate billing and claim submission.
  • Clinical Pre-Testing: Perform precise diagnostic workups, including Autorefraction, IOP, and Visual Acuity, to prepare patients for the doctor.
  • Practice Flow Management: Handle scheduling and phone triage with a focus on providing a seamless patient experience.

Who You Are:

  • Relationship-Driven: You genuinely enjoy interacting with people and have a talent for making patients feel comfortable and informed.
  • Detail-Oriented: You understand that accurate insurance verification and billing are the lifeblood of a small practice.
  • Experienced: You have 1-2+ years in an optometry or medical setting with a solid grasp of clinical flow and insurance terminology.
  • Reliable & Autonomous: You take pride in "owning" your role and managing the front-to-back operations of a professional office.

Why Join Us?

  • Clinical Focus: A modern, medical-centered environment with no sales or retail quotas.
  • Professional Autonomy: You aren't just an employee; you are a partner in the practice's success.
  • Work-Life Balance: Stable scheduling
  • Competitive Pay: starting, based on experience and expertise.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Benefits:

  • On-the-job training
  • Paid time off
  • Professional development assistance

Work Location: In person
