Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented clinical Phlebotomist Laboratory Service Assistant to join our clinical team. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting and preparing clinical specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and shipment to the laboratory for processing. Your contributions will directly impact patient care and the accuracy of laboratory results. Duties
- Collect and prepare clinical specimen, including but not limited to urine, blood, and oral specimens, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and storage according to protocols
- Accurately complete electronic or paper laboratory requisition forms for each patient and ensure all required information is properly documented
- Coordinate specimen shipment or delivery to the proper laboratory for testing
- Maintain specimen integrity and follow strict procedures to prevent contamination
- Record relevant patient or specimen information accurately in laboratory or clinic systems
- Assist with inventory management, supply organization, and equipment checks
- Follow safety standards, infection control procedures, and clinic protocols to maintain a safe working environment
- Communicate effectively with clinical and laboratory staff regarding specimen handling and workflow
- Support clinic workflow and assist staff with specimen-related coordination as needed
Requirements
- Prior experience in a clinical, healthcare, or laboratory support setting is highly preferred
- Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience required
- Familiarity with specimen collection, handling, and preparation procedures
- Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinical workflows
- Ability to follow detailed protocols accurately while maintaining high standards of safety and aseptic technique
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for managing multiple specimens and tasks efficiently
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and documenting procedures clearly
- Reliable transportation
